John and Ashley DeLuca met at the University of Illinois where they were both active in Cru. In 2009, they were married in Springfield, IL, Ashley's hometown, and then began their journey in New Orleans, LA. John grew up in a military family and lived all over, but claims the Midwest as home, specifically Greater St. Louis where he attended junior high and high school in O'Fallon, IL.

John graduated college with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Ashley with a degree in English and Secondary Education. Shortly into their careers and marriage, the DeLuca kids began to arrive. They now have seven kids! Throughout John and Ashley's time in New Orleans, they were active in their local church and college ministry but began to feel called back to the Midwest. After a couple years of prayer, John received an opportunity to help with the construction and startup of a fertilizer plant in Southeast Iowa. The DeLucas moved to Burlington, IA, and quickly found a church home at Harmony Bible Church.

During that time, the Lord began to work in John's heart toward full-time ministry and specifically church planting. After nine years as an engineer, the Lord opened a door for John to step into full-time ministry at Harmony Bible Church. Since 2017, John has been serving at Harmony as the Executive Pastor of Ministries. The desire to pursue church planting never disappeared, however. After growing, learning, and serving in ministry these last 5+ years, John, Ashley, and the kids are excited to be sent out by Harmony to plant a church. Having been blessed to be a part of a thriving, healthy church focused on discipleship and multiplication, their desire is see the Lord's local body reproduced over and over in this way. They are praying that God would use them to bring people to faith in Christ, help people grow in their love of the Lord, and send them out on mission to be and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
